A New Reality and New Obstacles
Many people are struggling with mental health issues during quarantine. Some have had mental health conditions that they have been managing their whole life, and quarantine has created many more obstacles for them to have access to the support that they need. Others may have never struggled with mental health issues and now find themselves in foreign territory as they navigate the stresses of the social, political, and economical turbulence caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on top of the stress caused by social isolation and having one’s movements restricted for a prolonged period of time.
For better or for worse, many states including Washington State are beginning to open up their economies again. This may cause some people to breathe a sigh of relief at the prospect of being able to see friends and family in person. Others may become more anxious due to the health and medical ramifications that could follow suit. Everyone will continue having to navigate the economy, their own finances and security, and the sociopolitical strife that is not going to magically disappear, but will be here for us to all navigate together as a society.
At Rebel Med NW, we are with you. We are going all through these same things ourselves, and we want to continue to serve our community in any ways that we can. We have compiled a list of resources for at-home learning and entertainment that are free, and we have compiled some mental health resources as well. Our clinic also offers a variety of mind-body modalities to specifically help patients manage mental health.
