COVID-19 Guidance and Care Operations at Rebel Med NW
While the Covid-19 Pandemic is officially considered over, its effects and ongoing nature of challenges can still be affecting many different individuals as we continue to learn its ongoing effects on various population groups in our community.
Here are a couple of key guidelines we encourage you to consider:
- Many individuals may be at higher risk of complications from covid-19, and will continue to support wearing a mask if you choose, or ask your provider to wear a mask, to aid in the prevention and transmission of viral respiratory diseases in a medical setting.
- We continue to offer both rapid antigen testing and PCR testing when appropriate for clinical evaluation, along with other viral illnesses.
- We encourage the use of telemedicine when you are feeling potential viral illness symptoms, or recently exposed to someone whom may have contracted a viral illness.
Covid-19 Protections / Clinical Guidance at Rebel Med NW
Please take a moment to examine our clinic guidance that we have put in place regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and supporting the Ballard / Seattle community.
Our top priority as well as the community should be to protect the well-being of vulnerable populations, immune-compromised, pregnant, elderly, and individuals with cardiovascular, diabetes, or cancer health history. These populations are most risk regarding the complications of this coronavirus.
Due to the specific nature of how viral diseases spread, we do recommend that the best method of prevention and treatment is following guidelines put out currently by the CDC or the King County Public Health.
Patient In Office Care Policies
- In Office Care we have modified our scheduling system to reduce exposure risk and optimize patient flow to maintain physical distancing of 6 ft where possible
- If you are symptomatically ill for COVID-19 potential symptoms(see CDC list) and are seeking medical care we ask that you start with a telemedicine screening visit before any in-office care. We understand that it is allergy season, and many times we can support your care remotely.
- Please review COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire prior to ALL appointments.
- Mask requirements: While we no longer require all patients to wear a mask, we continue to provide masks for those that may need one, or our providers will wear one to reduce your transmittance to others.
- Hand Sanitizer Stations: we have installed additional hand sanitizer stations for patient and provider use throughout the facility including immediately upon entry.
- Thorough Hand Washing upon clinic entry: our clinic set-up allows you to enter the facility and wash your hands even before setting foot in the primary clinic area.
- Outside Covid-19 Testing for Symptomatic patients: We offer outside / in your car covid-19 testing when requested based on scheduling to prevent known risk exposure in our facility.
- Please Maintain 6 FT Physical distancing along with our separate lobby spaces allows continue support of prevention of close proximity while indoors, with additional HEPA air filters per room.
- Payment & Billing: we have a completely digital online medical record and billing system, this allows you to pay remotely via text, email, or patient portal. Additional we can swipe or key-in your debit / credit / HSA card and store via our secure PCI-compliant merchant processor. We can securely email or send your portal billing information including receipts and invoices, as needed.
- Thank you for thinking of our community and those that might be at risk for complications with this virus.
Please review the following symptoms prior to care at Rebel Med NW:
PER CDC: People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness.
These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus:
- Fever
- Cough
- Fatigue
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Chills
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
In addition, based on evidence of research we would additionally be mindful if you have had recent bowel changes including vomiting and diarrhea in general, as we would like to prevent the spread of influenza, norovirus, and any other pathogenic viral diseases that can spread through the community.
We offer both:
- CLIA-waived rapid antigen SARS-COV-2 test with report
- PCR/NAAT Test through Labcorp or FIDALAB with a typical turnaround time of 24-48 hours.
Pricing is subject to personal health insurance coverage, patient responsibility for copay/deductible if testing performed and evaluated at our office for suspected Covid-19.
If no benefits with insurance, $75 non-covered cost applied to performing testing at our facility.
Paxlovid Treatment – We are able to prescribe and recommend the current approved anti-viral therapy if started within 5 days of symptoms, and if person is at risk per age, or underlying medical condition as evaluated by our physicians. While not a cure, will aid in reduction of complications and severity of illness in some population groups.
Covid-19 Vaccine – We recommend receiving and maintaining Covid-19 Vaccine boosters as appropriate based on age, risk, and benefit for prevention of complications associated with contracting SARS-COV-2.
Dietary Supplements – While we do carry several dietary supplements that can be beneficial for generalized immune health & support, endothelial dysfunction, and treatments of cardiovascular disease & diabetes, we would recommend that you meet with one of our licensed Naturopathic or Eastern Medicine providers to determine if these tools are in your best interest, and what risk factors could be present that may put you at higher risk if developing complications or aggravation of underling medical illness associated with a SARS-COV-2 infection.
Prevention – Is the best treatment strategy through the use of the clinical validated tools such as masking, ventilation, and proper respiratory hygiene and hand-washing.
General Treatment Disclaimer: Any treatments we may recommend are considered investigational, and not curative of any particular disease. Our goal is to always reduce risk, reduce exposure, and reduce complications associated the transmission of this disease and any other disease which has the potential to harm vulnerable populations. While there are many potential tools to help alleviate or support the consequences of a viral disease, we find that each patient needs to have a custom risk assessment to determine their individual needs, and are more than happy to start this conversation with you.
Thank You!
The Rebel Med NW Team would like to thank you for following this guidance as it really helps to support our continued ability to help you and the community with their medical care.
