Biography
Dr. Lois Hernandez is a naturopathic doctor who is passionate about integrative medicine and preventative care. She graduated with a degree in analytical chemistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Shortly after graduation she accepted a position at Gaia Herbs, Inc. as the pesticide residue chemist and was exposed to the world of natural medicine. After 10 years of working as an analytical chemist in the botanical, nutraceutical, & pharmaceutical realm, she felt called to help others optimize their health through a holistic lens with emphasis on diet & lifestyle and pursued Naturopathic Medicine. At Rebel Med NW, Dr. Hernandez is a primary care provider with special interests in hormone health, autoimmunity, long-COVID, environmental medicine, & mental health. She also practices mind-body medicine, utilizing biofeedback as a tool to help aid in regulating the nervous system paired with other techniques. She is a HAES (Health at Every Size) provider and a LGBTQIA+ or GSM (gender and sexual minorities) affirming doctor.
Clinical Philosophy
Dr. Hernandez recognizes that each patient presents with their own unique health journeys and needs. Her strong work ethic and perceptive outlook informs her clinical practice. She believes in empowering her patients with both the education and the diverse treatment options they need to allow them to take charge of their health. Dr. Hernandez views the patient as the most important person of the medical team and will be there to support her patients throughout their journey with the full support of our team at Rebel Med NW.
